Festinato Ops¶
Festinato Ops is the organiser's app — the back-office in your pocket. It puts the handful of things you actually do while walking the site one tap away: read the running order, push a schedule change, set doors and curfew, check crew in, clear the approvals queue and jot a quick note — without fighting a full desktop back-office on a phone.
It's a separate app from the one your audience downloads. Where the attendee app is white-labelled in your colours and published under your App Store account, Ops always wears Festinato's own branding and is for your staff, not the public.
Who it's for
Festival-organiser staff: the people on the ground during the event and the small team planning the next edition. It is the mobile counterpart to the desktop back-office — not a replacement for it. Heavy configuration still happens at a desk; Ops is for the things you do on your feet.
Signing in¶
Sign-in is a magic link, the same passwordless approach the portal uses. Enter your email, tap the link in the message, and you're in — there's no password to set. Access is gated by your back-office staff account, so only your team can sign in.
One app, every festival¶
The active festival is shown as a chip at the top of the screen, and a switcher lets you move between the festivals you work on. Everything you see and every change you make is scoped to the festival you're currently in — there is no cross-festival leakage, the same isolation rule the portal and the API follow.
For advance planning, an edition switcher narrows the line-up, day plan and sponsor screens to one running of the festival (defaulting to the current one), so planning next year never touches this year's live data.

Now — the home screen¶
Opens on the live picture of today:
- What's playing now across your stages, with what's coming next.
- A "needs you" stack — the things waiting on a decision: open slots with no act, approvals in the queue, anything flagged.
- Today's venues, each a tap away from its day-sheet.
Running order¶
A per-stage timeline with a now line, so you can see at a glance where the day is. Slots show their state, and any open slot is flagged as needing an act.
- Edit a slot — move a set's time or length right from the timeline.
- Notify on change — when you move a set, you choose whether to push the change out. The app shows the time difference and who it affects before you confirm, so a correction during the show reaches the artist, the crew and the audience app at once.
Venue day-sheet¶
Everything a venue lead needs for the day on one screen: the weather plan, doors and curfew times, the sound limit, and tap-to-call contacts.
Crew & shifts¶
See how each shift is filling and check crew in with a tap. Open a crew member to see the shift they're on and call or email them on the spot.
Gate scan¶
Where the festival sells tickets through Festinato's box office, the gate runs from Ops. Point the camera at a ticket's QR code and get an instant verdict — valid, already scanned (with the time it was first used), or invalid — clear enough to read in a queue after dark. If a phone screen won't scan, a manual search by name or ticket number checks the holder in instead, and a running sold-versus-scanned count shows how much of the crowd is through the gate. The scan screen only appears when the festival runs its own box office.
Approvals inbox¶
The decisions queue, reached from the bell in the top bar (with an unread dot). Work through items — including SUISA royalty lists, with the performed-works table and a signature — and approve or send them back, all from your phone. See SUISA list for what goes into one.
Quick capture¶
A floating button to capture a note and a photo the moment something happens on site, attach it to the relevant record, and flag it for follow-up — so the detail lands in the back-office instead of someone's camera roll.
Planning ahead¶
Beyond the live event, Ops carries the advance-planning surfaces for the next edition:
- Line-up — your booking pipeline and which acts still need a slot, with the same press-kit / programme state the artist portal shows. Add an act and assign it to the running order from here, including its bad-weather backup slot when the stage needs one.
- Day plan — per-day tasks and goals for the team.
- Sponsors — the fundraising pipeline, each sponsor with its tier, this edition's amount and final-report status.
- Comms — schedule social posts to your connected Facebook, Instagram and Mastodon accounts, or draft one from an artist record, right from the phone. See Communications & social media for the full feature.
Works offline¶
Sites have dead spots. Ops reads through an on-device cache, so screens keep showing the last data they saw even with no signal — with a clear "showing what we last saw" note when that happens. Changes you make while offline are queued and sent automatically when the connection comes back, so a check-in or a slot move on the far side of the field isn't lost.
Data also stays current without restarting the app: every screen refreshes itself in the background, and a refresh button in the top bar pulls the latest on demand.

Ops and the back-office act on the same records over the same API, so a slot moved on a phone and a slot moved at a desk are the same change — there's no separate copy of the data to reconcile.
